Hold your own election to choose your class's favorite U.S. president. Have students take roles and campaign as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and others, or simply have each student vote for his or her favorite.

Make a ballot box by cutting a five-inch slit in the top of a shoe box. Cover the lid of the shoe box with red, white, and blue wrapping paper or white paper covered with red and blue star stickers. Be careful to maintain the slit opening. Wrap the bottom of the box separately so you'll be able to lift off the top and easily remove the ballots. Cut out the phrases below and use them to decorate your box. Use the "official ballot" master included in this kit and photcopy enough ballots for your students.
